The Swiss city of Geneva hosted a major national celebration during the night of July 4 to 5, marking the 64th anniversary of Algeria\u2019s Independence and Youth Day. The event was organized by the Consulate General of Algeria and witnessed a strong turnout from members of the Algerian community living abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nearly 600 Algerian citizens attended the celebration, with a remarkable presence of families and young people. Their participation reflected the strong national bond that continues to connect different generations of Algerians, even far from the homeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this occasion, the Consul General delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of making this celebration a renewed annual tradition. He said such events are an opportunity to renew loyalty to the message of Algeria\u2019s martyrs and to pass this responsibility on to future generations, in order to preserve national memory and keep it alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Consul General also highlighted the special attention given by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to the Algerian community abroad. He described the national community overseas as an authentic and active part of the Algerian nation, as well as a living extension of the country beyond its borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The celebration included a special exhibition dedicated to Algeria\u2019s cultural, traditional and artisanal heritage. Visitors had the opportunity to discover the depth of Algerian identity and the richness of its diversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The evening also featured a musical performance that created an atmosphere of joy, pride and belonging among the participants. The ceremony ended with a fireworks display, accompanied by national songs, ululations and chants of \u201cLong live Algeria\u201d echoing in the skies of Geneva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event once again showed that Algeria remains present wherever its people are. It also reflected the unity of its citizens, their loyalty to the sacrifices of the martyrs and their confidence in a promising future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
