Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, presided on Thursday over the graduation ceremony at the Cherchell Military Academy \u201clate President Houari Boumediene,\u201d according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ceremony marked the graduation of the 57th class of basic training, the 19th class of common basic military training, and the 10th class of officers from the Master\u2019s program for the 2025-2026 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Tebboune was accompanied by General Sa\u00efd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People\u2019s National Army. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by senior military officials, including the Commander of the Land Forces and the Commander of the Cherchell Military Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the official reception, the President listened to the national anthem and reviewed military formations representing various branches of the People\u2019s National Army. He then paid tribute to the late President Houari Boumediene, whose name the academy bears, by laying a wreath of flowers at the memorial dedicated to him and reciting Al-Fatiha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The graduation ceremony was held at the academy\u2019s parade ground. In his address, General Chanegriha thanked the President for supervising the event, which coincides with celebrations marking the 64th anniversary of Algeria\u2019s Independence Day and the recovery of national sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The academy\u2019s commander highlighted the graduation of a new elite group of officers who received military and academic training based on discipline, national spirit and readiness to serve the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the ceremony, President Tebboune awarded ranks and certificates to the top graduates. The graduating class was named after the late moudjahid and former President Liamine Zeroual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event concluded with sports and military demonstrations performed by academy students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
