Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune held one-on-one talks with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin as part of his two-day official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The talks followed an official welcoming ceremony at Villa Borsig, where Steinmeier received the Algerian leader. Tebboune began the visit on Wednesday at the invitation of his German counterpart, with both sides seeking to give fresh momentum to bilateral relations and broaden cooperation in areas of shared interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visit comes amid growing efforts by Algeria and Germany to strengthen political dialogue, economic exchanges and long-term strategic partnerships. Discussions are expected to cover bilateral relations, energy, trade, investment, industrial cooperation and regional and international issues of mutual concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An Algerian-German economic forum is also being held on the sidelines of the presidential visit. Senior officials, business leaders and investors from both countries are taking part in the event, which aims to connect companies, identify new investment opportunities and support practical cooperation between the two economies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The forum is expected to conclude with the announcement of a strategic partnership and the signing of more than 30 agreements across several sectors. Priority areas include hydrocarbons, renewable energy, the energy transition, the pharmaceutical industry, manufacturing and advanced technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These agreements are expected to create new opportunities for technology transfer, industrial development, investment and job creation. They may also support Algeria\u2019s efforts to diversify its economy and develop value-added industries, while giving German companies broader access to one of North Africa\u2019s largest markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tebboune\u2019s visit reflects the two countries\u2019 shared determination to deepen their relationship and establish a more diversified, sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership. The presidential talks and economic forum are expected to lay the foundations for stronger institutional, commercial and technological cooperation between Algeria and Germany.
