The Speaker of Algeria\u2019s National People\u2019s Assembly, Khalida Boufadache, chaired a plenary session on Thursday during which lawmakers approved the list of deputy speakers for the first year of the tenth legislative term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The approval was conducted in accordance with Article 133 of the Algerian Constitution, as well as Articles 12 and 13 of the Assembly\u2019s internal regulations, according to a statement issued by the lower house of Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The newly approved deputy speakers represent several political parties and independent members, reflecting the composition of the National People\u2019s Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Representing the National Liberation Front are Ahmed Badr El Islam Belkat and Mohamed Tati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The National Democratic Rally is represented by Mondher Bouden and Ibrahim Hadj Heni, while the Future Front is represented by Belkacem Mesnadi and Slimane Smaili.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amine Allouche was selected on behalf of the Movement of Society for Peace, while Sa\u00efda A\u00efti represents the National Construction Movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Independent lawmakers are represented by Ibrahim Rabhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deputy speakers assist the Speaker in managing parliamentary sessions, coordinating legislative work, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Assembly\u2019s activities. They may also chair plenary sittings and perform other duties assigned under the institution\u2019s internal rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vote followed Boufadache\u2019s recent election as the first woman to lead Algeria\u2019s National People\u2019s Assembly, marking a historic development in the country\u2019s parliamentary life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
