The reception brought together several Italian lawmakers, the representative of the Polisario Front in Italy, and members of associations, municipalities, and local institutions involved in supporting the initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants praised the humanitarian and cultural role of the programme, which enables Sahrawi children to spend part of their summer holidays with host families in Italy. They also highlighted its contribution to raising awareness of the Western Sahara issue within Italian society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speakers stressed that cooperation between national institutions, local authorities, civil society organizations, and Italian families forms a key pillar of support for Sahrawi children. They said the initiative reflects a broad network of solidarity and strengthens cultural exchange between the Sahrawi and Italian peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Polisario Front representative expressed appreciation for the warm reception and for the continued support provided by the Italian Parliament and solidarity networks across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Valentina Roversi, president of the Sahrawi Network, said that 109 Sahrawi children are spending their summer holidays this year in seven Italian regions. Their stay is being supported by dozens of municipalities and local institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She reaffirmed the network\u2019s commitment to continuing humanitarian and solidarity initiatives in support of the Sahrawi people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u201cYoung Ambassadors for Peace\u201d programme has become an important annual initiative, offering children a period away from difficult summer conditions while promoting awareness of Sahrawi culture, identity, and humanitarian concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
