According to Spanish media reports, S\u00e1nchez made these remarks during an on-site visit to Ceuta to assess the rapidly evolving crisis. This came as Spain\u2019s Ministry of the Interior estimated that around 49,000 migrants had crossed into the city from Morocco within just one day, placing significant pressure on Spanish authorities amid a sharp rise in irregular migration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that the Spanish government is fully committed to safeguarding Ceuta, emphasizing that the city is an integral part of Spain. He noted that all available resources would be mobilized to guarantee the safety of the city and reassure both residents and citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCeuta\u2019s security, as part of our nation, and the safety and peace of mind of our citizens and residents are guaranteed by the actions of the Spanish government, regardless of the circumstances and using all available means,\u201d S\u00e1nchez said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also blamed human trafficking networks for fueling the surge, arguing that they have exploited the current situation to push thousands of migrants toward the Spanish enclave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, S\u00e1nchez linked the rise in crossing attempts to what he described as a \u201cmisleading interpretation\u201d by smuggling networks of a recent Spanish Supreme Court ruling.
