The General Caliph of the Tijaniyya Sufi Order, Sidi Ali Belarabi Tidjani, arrived in Abuja on Thursday afternoon for an official visit to Nigeria lasting more than a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visit comes at the invitation of the Sheikh Tahir Othman Bauchi Foundation and will include a series of religious activities and meetings related to the Tijaniyya Order, according to Bachar Tidjani, the official responsible for media affairs at the General Caliphate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon his arrival, the General Caliph and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by Algeria\u2019s ambassador to Nigeria, alongside Caliph Sheikh Ibrahim Othman Bauchi. The reception highlighted the importance of the visit and the strong spiritual and historical ties connecting followers of the Tijaniyya Order in Algeria and Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his stay, Sidi Ali Belarabi Tidjani is expected to preside over the annual celebration commemorating the birth of Sheikh Sidi Ahmed Tijani, founder of the Tijaniyya Order, in the northern Nigerian city of Kano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The annual gathering is considered one of the most significant religious events for the Tijaniyya community and traditionally attracts large numbers of followers and disciples from several countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The program also includes a series of bilateral meetings with Tijaniyya religious leaders and followers. Discussions will focus on the activities of zawiyas, strengthening communication between the Order\u2019s different branches, and expanding religious and spiritual cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
