The visit aimed to monitor the progress of works for the new mining berth, which is an integral component of the comprehensive integrated phosphate project. This strategic infrastructure initiative is highly valued by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, underscoring its national importance.<\/p>\n
During the inspection, the Minister observed key construction activities. Progress was noted in the piling operations, with 656 out of 1332 piles already completed. Attention was also given to the construction of the stone barrier along the quay wall. Furthermore, the Minister monitored the continuous dredging of sand from the sea using specialized vessels, a 24-hour operation that pumps approximately 30,000 cubic meters daily to form the filled sub-base behind the berth.<\/p>\n
The visit also encompassed the ongoing construction of reinforced concrete beams and preparations for the installation of precast reinforced concrete slabs, which are essential for forming the superstructure of the new berth. Following his observations, Minister Djellaoui issued directives to the construction companies, emphasizing the need for intensified on-site monitoring, enhanced coordination among all stakeholders, and an accelerated work pace.
