The Algerian National People's Army (ANP) has reported significant achievements in its latest weekly operational balance, covering the period from August 5 to August 11, 2026. Operations conducted across national territory resulted in the apprehension of four individuals identified as support elements for terrorist groups. These efforts underscore the ANP's unwavering commitment to national security and the fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n
In a concerted push against organized crime and drug trafficking, ANP detachments successfully apprehended 49 drug dealers. This week also saw the thwarting of attempts to smuggle 420 kilograms of treated hashish across the border with Morocco. Further substantial seizures included 88 kilograms of cocaine and a massive haul of 3,813,812 psychotropic pills, amounting to over 3.8 tonnes, demonstrating the army's comprehensive approach to disrupting illicit narcotics networks.<\/p>\n
Beyond drug enforcement, operations in areas such as Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Illizi, and In Guezzam led to the arrest of 512 individuals involved in illegal activities. Authorities confiscated 25 vehicles, 298 electricity generators, and 125 pressure hammers, alongside quantities of raw gold mixture and stones, as well as equipment used in illicit gold prospecting. Additionally, seven other individuals were arrested, with an automatic pistol, six hunting rifles, 14,838 liters of fuel, and 2,100 kilograms of tobacco seized in separate operations.
