The facility now produces 300,000 cubic meters of desalinated water daily, following the completion of gradual production ramp-up stages in accordance with established standards. Since its commissioning, the plant has supplied over 92 million cubic meters of desalinated water, contributing significantly to the drinking water supply system in Oran and surrounding areas.

This achievement enhances desalinated water production capabilities in the governorate, helping to meet citizens' drinking water needs and ensuring supply stability. The Cap Blanc plant is an integral part of the first complementary national program, now fully delivered, aimed at strengthening national water security. Its operation underscores the state's commitment to securing water resources and improving public water services. The plant was successfully reactivated on June 9 after its annual scheduled maintenance, which was completed within technical and organizational protocols and on schedule.

With the Cap Blanc plant now operating at full capacity, Algeria's national desalinated water production capabilities have reached 3.7 million cubic meters per day. This significant capacity positions Algeria as the first African country and the second Arab nation, after Saudi Arabia, in terms of desalinated water production. This accomplishment reflects the ongoing efforts to ensure sustainable drinking water supply and bolster national water security.

The Cap Blanc desalination plant in Oran has achieved its full operational capacity of 300,000 cubic meters per day, enhancing water security for the region.
