The 7th edition of the Burnous Festival recently took place in Assi Youcef, within Kabylie's Djurdjura mountains, from August 22 to 25. This four-day cultural event, held in the village of Ath Hidja in the da\u00efra of Boghni, was dedicated to preserving traditional craftsmanship and promoting Amazigh identity. The festival underscored Algeria's commitment to its rich cultural heritage.<\/p>\n
Organized by the Amlouline cultural association in partnership with the Assi Youcef Communal People's Assembly (APC) and with financial backing from the Tizi-Ouzou Wilaya People's Assembly (APW), the festival served as a significant cultural gathering. The official launch was presided over by Mr. Sma\u00efl Benhamna, President of the APW of Tizi-Ouzou, alongside local officials. They collectively emphasized the importance of sustaining such initiatives to instill pride in this traditional garment for future generations.<\/p>\n
Despite warm summer temperatures, hundreds of visitors from various parts of Algeria explored the village's transformed streets.
