The foundation for this collaboration has been established through several engagements, including a 2022 working session between the tourism ministers of both countries, the signing of eight agreements at the November 2023 Saudi-Algerian Business Forum in Riyadh, and further agreements at the April 2025 Algerian-Saudi Business Forum in Algeria, which included a memorandum between Algerian and Saudi tourism companies. Algeria's extensive tourism potential includes over 1200 kilometers of coastline with 609 beaches, 1557 hotel establishments, and more than 4400 tourism and travel agencies.<\/p>\n
Joint investments are envisioned to target coastal resorts, marinas, marine sports, and family entertainment centers, integrating them into comprehensive destinations linked to nearby cities, cultural sites, and local markets. Faragh emphasizes that combining Algerian assets with Saudi investment expertise is crucial for developing new projects that link the coast, high plateaus, steppes, and the Sahara through diverse, longer-stay itineraries. To enhance the attractiveness of this cooperation, it is essential to improve the tourism investment climate by simplifying procedures, facilitating access to real estate, accelerating licenses, encouraging public-private partnerships, offering targeted tax incentives, and ensuring a stable and transparent legal framework.<\/p>\n
This partnership should move beyond merely constructing hotels to create holistic tourism ecosystems, encompassing accommodation, dining, transport, entertainment, culture, heritage, traditional crafts, local agricultural products, events, and digital services.
