Algiers – A four-year partnership agreement was signed today in Algiers between the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (COA) and Air Alg\u00e9rie, aimed at providing athletes and various COA staff with premium transportation conditions on its flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement was signed by the Secretary General of the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee, Khireddine Barbari, and the CEO of Air Alg\u00e9rie, Hamza Ben Hamouda, in the presence of the Ministers of Youth and Sports, Abdel Rahman Hammad, and Transport, Mohamed Habib Zahana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under this agreement, Air Alg\u00e9rie, the historical partner and official carrier of the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee, will ensure the transportation of athletes, national teams, and their support staff to participate in various international sporting events, including the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games, set to commence in 15 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this occasion, Hamza Ben Hamouda, CEO of Air Alg\u00e9rie, stated during the signing ceremony held at the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee Museum: “Our company, alongside the Olympic body, aims to fulfill its civic role and, as the official partner and carrier of the Olympic Committee, facilitate the transportation of athletes and managers within national sports organizations with the sole objective of developing Algerian sports.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added, “Air Alg\u00e9rie has always sought to play a vital leading role in Algeria and is committed to supporting various initiatives that contribute to the well-being of our community. As evidence, a similar agreement was signed in 2013.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement spans four years and allows national team athletes to benefit from a 50% discount on their travels to participate in sports events and various destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Youth and Sports Minister Abdel Rahman Hammad praised the officials of Air Alg\u00e9rie who have always supported and accompanied the Algerian sports movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stated that this agreement “enables the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee to support Algerian athletes and promote sports nationally, especially during the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where Algeria will be represented by 46 athletes.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is worth noting that the Algerian Olympic Committee previously signed an agreement with Air Alg\u00e9rie in May 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 46 Algerian athletes have secured their qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, scheduled from July 26 to August 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
