Following the devastating wildfires in Jijel, Bejaia, and Tizi Ouzou, survivors continue their recovery journey in hospitals, including the "Said Chiban" Major Burns Hospital in Zeralda. Beyond medical treatment, many survivors, including women<\/a>, men, and children<\/a>, face a critical need for daily essentials. In response to these ongoing challenges, popular solidarity initiatives have emerged, offering vital support and supplies to those affected and their families during their hospitalization.<\/p>\n

The Algerian<\/a> Red Crescent<\/a> has been active in these humanitarian efforts. Its Souk El Ghozlane municipal office in Bouira province visited survivors to offer reassurance and assistance. Mariam Amara, head of the Souk El Ghozlane office, confirmed that the team provided essential items such as diapers, sanitary pads, mineral water, underwear for both men and women, and milk, with the explicit goal of alleviating the suffering of patients and their families. This aid was made possible through the contributions of citizens.<\/p>\n

Further demonstrating community resilience, a dedicated group of female volunteers, who connected through social media, also mobilized to assist. Noha Mohamed, one of the volunteers, highlighted that this was a "100 percent women's initiative," bringing together young women who united their efforts to help female and other survivors. These volunteers specifically brought supplies tailored for women and girls, including sanitary pads and underwear, addressing often overlooked but essential needs during extended hospital stays. They also noted ongoing requirements for burn ointments and cotton blankets.<\/p>\n
