State Secretary for the National Community Abroad, Soufiane Chaib, recently chaired a virtual meeting with heads of several consular centers to review ongoing efforts to enhance consular services for Algerians residing abroad and evaluate the progress of consular transaction digitization. The discussions focused on current steps to implement the consular services digitization plan and to develop the necessary digital infrastructure. These measures aim to streamline administrative procedures, reduce processing times, and improve the quality of services offered to Algerian<\/a> citizens.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the State Secretary underscored the paramount importance of prioritizing the welfare of the national community abroad and elevating the consular operational framework to meet their specific concerns and needs. He emphasized the continued modernization and digitization of consular transactions as crucial for ensuring the provision of faster and more effective services. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/a> and its extensive consular network are actively engaged in facilitating various transactions and shortening the duration for file processing.<\/p>\n

The meeting also provided an update on the progress of generalizing remote biometric passport issuance for community members. This service was initially launched on a trial basis at the Algerian Consulate in Paris at the end of June.
