A high-level meeting recently took place on September 15, between Algerian Energy Minister Mohamed Arkab and Ramez El Khayat, CEO of Qatar&#39;s <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-internal\" data-dzsl=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=78152\">Power International Holding<\/a> (PIH). The Qatari ambassador to Algiers also attended these discussions.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting at the Energy Department headquarters, the parties focused on enhancing the partnership between Algeria&#39;s <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-external\" data-dzsl=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/sonatrach.com\/en\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Sonatrach<\/a> and PIH&#39;s subsidiary, UCC Holding. Key areas of discussion encompassed oil, gas, transport, refining, petrochemicals, and broader commercial cooperation, specifically including liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and various petroleum products. Minister Arkab presented Algeria&#39;s comprehensive hydrocarbon sector development program and underscored the supportive regulatory framework for foreign operators, particularly the hydrocarbon law which offers numerous advantages.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Arkab extended an invitation to the Qatari group and its affiliates to participate in the forthcoming &quot;Algerian Bid Round 2026,&quot; designed for the development of exploration fields and blocks. The Qatari representative expressed a strong desire to expand his group&#39;s investments in Algeria and collaborate with Sonatrach on high-value-added projects within the hydrocarbon sector. He also acknowledged the conducive investment environment Algeria offers to international operators.
