Algeria<\/a> has initiated a new phase of social and educational inclusion with the launch of its first specialized centers dedicated to children<\/a> with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This development coincides with the commencement of the 2026-2027 school year and is accompanied by the introduction of a new digital platform, \u201cMorafiqokom,\u201d by the National Solidarity sector, as announced by Soraya Mouloudji, the Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and Women<\/a>'s Affairs.<\/p>\n

The opening of these specialized centers marks a first for Algeria, following extensive preparation that included equipping facilities and developing a scientifically-based educational program. This program is tailored to adapt to the varying degrees and types of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Furthermore, more than 25 training sessions have been conducted since February 2026 to enhance the competencies of professionals involved in the care of autistic children. The \u201cMorafiqokom\u201d digital platform is designed to facilitate the monitoring of educational progress for students with special needs and to strengthen communication between educational institutions and families, specifically serving specialized educational establishments.<\/p>\n

These initiatives are part of broader efforts to support students with special needs in Algeria, where over 40,000 such students are enrolled for the 2026-2027 academic year<\/a> across more than 277 educational institutions, encompassing 1,745 special classes, with 200 new classes opening this year. The Ministry also provides significant social assistance, including special school allowances for millions of students. Additionally, 100 million dinars have been allocated to complete technical equipment for visually impaired students, and a substantial number of school bags with supplies have been distributed, with an extra allocation for students in Jijel. In Jijel, a specialized social and psychological support program has also been launched for families and children, particularly those affected by fires, featuring dialogue workshops and individual and group psychological sessions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
