Algeria<\/a>'s Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security<\/a>, Mohamed Hattab, has directed all National Social Insurance Fund (CNAS) centers across the country to open on Saturday mornings. This measure aims to significantly improve citizens' access to social services, particularly allowing employees and workers to address their administrative and social needs on their weekly day off. The directive was issued during a meeting chaired by the Minister on Monday, which focused on monitoring the fund's performance and evaluating the implementation of its programs, as well as exploring ways to enhance the quality of services provided to insured individuals and their beneficiaries.<\/p>\n

The decision to open CNAS centers on Saturdays is intended to facilitate greater citizen access to the fund's services, reduce pressure on its facilities, and elevate reception conditions and overall public service quality. During the same meeting, the Minister also instructed the initiation of a reorganization of the CNAS structural network within Algiers province. This reorganization includes studying the creation of three regional directorates\u2014East, Central, and West\u2014designed to redistribute tasks, bring the fund's structures closer to insured individuals, and improve coordination, follow-up, and the efficiency of file and concern management, in alignment with the province's population density and expanding urban and administrative fabric.<\/p>\n

The meeting also featured a detailed presentation on the fund's activities, including performance indicators, the level of care provided to insured individuals, the status of services across various structures, and the ongoing digitalization and simplification of procedures. Significant progress in digital transformation was highlighted, particularly in remote declarations, electronic payments, and digital services for businesses and employers. Furthermore, the development of services enabling insured individuals to access documents and information remotely, without needing to visit CNAS facilities, was reviewed. Minister Hattab underscored that improving the performance of social security funds is not solely measured by activity volume, but by its direct impact on service quality for citizens, the speed of addressing their concerns, and the protection of their social rights.
