The meeting took place on the sidelines of Minister Attaf&#39;s participation in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>During their discussions, Minister Attaf extended congratulations to Mr. Rahman on assuming the presidency of this important UN body. He further reiterated <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-internal\" data-dzsl=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?cat=1\">Algeria<\/a>&#39;s <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-internal\" data-dzsl=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=79195\">steadfast support<\/a> for the missions entrusted to the President, particularly in light of what was described as unprecedented campaigns impacting multilateral action.<\/p>\n<p>The high-level exchange also underscored the significance of robust cooperation between the General Assembly and the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This council is currently presided over by Algeria&#39;s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Amar Benjama. The cooperation aims to promote international collaboration and expedite the realization of the UN <a class=\"dzsl-auto-link dzsl-internal\" data-dzsl=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/dzwatch.dz\/?p=78870\">Sustainable Development Goals<\/a> by 2030, ensuring the protection of interests for all member states, especially those in the Global South.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minister Ahmed Attaf met with UN General Assembly President Khalilur Rahman in New York, reaffirming Algeria&#8217;s commitment to multilateralism and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
