Spanish agro-food group Vicky Foods<\/a> has allocated 19 million euros towards the expansion of its production site located in Sig, near Oran, Algeria<\/a>. This significant investment<\/a> is projected to double the industrial capacity of the facility, which initially began operations in 2014 as the group's first international factory outside Spain. The expansion includes a new two-level building spanning 10,000 square meters, along with the integration of two new production lines, a new warehouse, an analysis laboratory, and a product development laboratory.<\/p>\n

The first of the new production lines, dedicated to sheet sponge cakes, became operational in July and has already added 7,000 tons to the factory's capacity. This addition allows Vicky Foods to broaden its product offerings to include mini-snacks and mini-rolls for the Algerian market<\/a>. The second line, focusing on various bread products such as hamburger buns and sandwich bread, is scheduled to commence operations in October, contributing an additional 8,000 tons of capacity.<\/p>\n

Rafael Juan, CEO of Vicky Foods, affirmed the company's long-term commitment to the country, stating that the investment "reinforces our commitment to Algeria and ensures the continuity of the industrial project that we have initiated in the country." He added that the new lines will double the plant's capacity, expand the product range, and further the company's international growth strategy.
