According to international sustainable development<\/a> consultant Abdel Rahman Hadef, this comes as the International Energy Agency anticipates tighter markets in 2026 and 2027. The Agency identifies Algeria as the third-largest gas supplier to the European Union, with approximately 35 billion cubic meters of gas exported via pipelines and liquefied natural gas. The European Commission's ongoing dialogue with Algeria aims to foster a broader energy partnership encompassing gas, renewable energy sources, and hydrogen.<\/p>\n

Algeria's strategic advantages are highlighted by its substantial gas resources, developed infrastructure, and direct pipeline networks extending to Southern Europe. This geographical proximity and reliance on pipeline supplies offer a significant benefit, especially given the rising risks associated with maritime transport.
