Algiers<\/strong> \u2013 On Friday evening, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, presided over a reception at the National Army Club in Algiers. The event, held in honor of active and retired senior officers from the National People\u2019s Army, was attended by numerous high-ranking state officials, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry\u2019s statement explained that this reception, held on November 1, 2024, was part of the commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the November 1, 1954 Revolution. President Tebboune\u2019s presence underscored Algeria\u2019s commitment to honoring its historic milestones and paying homage to the martyrs who sacrificed for the nation\u2019s independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Tebboune was welcomed at the National Army Club entrance by Lieutenant General Sa\u00efd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the National People\u2019s Army. The event celebrated the enduring traditions of the National People\u2019s Army, which upholds and cherishes Algeria\u2019s historical legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In attendance were key government figures, including the President of the Council of the Nation, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Prime Minister, members of the government, and military leaders such as the Commander of the Republican Guard and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Defense. Commanders of military branches, heads of central departments within the Ministry of National Defense, and several national dignitaries, veterans, and high-ranking state officials also participated in the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony began with the performance of Algeria\u2019s national anthem by the Republican Guard’s musical ensemble, followed by a documentary screening titled \u201cAnd It Was Truly Our Duty,\u201d<\/em> produced by the Directorate of Information and Communication for the National People\u2019s Army. The documentary illustrated key moments from Algeria\u2019s history and the values upheld by its armed forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An aerial display of illuminated drones followed, creating vibrant formations symbolizing various aspects of Algeria\u2019s history and national pride. The evening concluded with an impressive fireworks display, adding a festive close to the memorable occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
