Speaking during the celebration of National Artisan Day, held annually on November 9, Minister Dedouche underscored this day as a significant opportunity to discuss and resolve artisans&#8217; concerns to help drive wealth generation\u2014a key aim of the government\u2019s action plan under the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister highlighted the crafts industry as a vital tool for employment, particularly among youth, with approximately 460,000 registered craft activities nationwide. He stressed that the traditional crafts sector contributes to economic growth beyond hydrocarbons, marking it as a crucial pillar in Algeria\u2019s economic diversification strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Dedouche encouraged artisans to actively participate in the country\u2019s development and embrace modernization, noting that they uphold the history and heritage of an ancient nation. He also congratulated artisans on National Artisan Day, viewing it as an opportunity to assess accomplishments and set goals for the future to support Algeria\u2019s crafts and traditional industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In light of Algeria&#8217;s upcoming role as a guest of honor at the 28th International Traditional Crafts Exhibition, scheduled in Milan, Italy, at the end of November, the Minister urged artisans to make a strong presence at this international event. Their participation would showcase Algeria\u2019s rich tangible and intangible heritage to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Chamber of Traditional Crafts and Trades President, Mohamed Hichem Nait Rabah, commended Algerian artisans across the country for their continuous efforts to enhance the quality of traditional crafts while preserving national identity and Algeria&#8217;s diverse cultural heritage.
