Algiers<\/strong> \u2013 The head coach of Algeria\u2019s national women\u2019s football team, Farid Benstiti, has emphasized the importance of the training camp currently underway in Blida (November 18\u201321). The camp, he noted, is focused on maintaining the team\u2019s work rhythm and dynamic approach as part of preparations for the 2025 Africa Women\u2019s Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled for July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to the Algerian Football Federation’s (FAF) official website, Benstiti explained that this first preparatory camp for local players builds on previous gatherings. Its goal is to maintain continuity between players active in the domestic league and select the best talents for the national squad. “We are focusing on ensuring a strong preparation for the upcoming AFCON,” he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Professional Training Framework<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The coach highlighted that the training camp is part of a comprehensive preparation plan for the postponed 2024 AFCON<\/a>, now set for 2025. The camp aims to develop the players\u2019 physical fitness, technical skills, and tactical understanding, while also instilling professional work habits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After missing the last two editions of the continental tournament, Algeria\u2019s women\u2019s team is set to make a comeback. The team will learn its group-stage opponents on Friday during the official draw, which will be held at 8:00 PM (Algerian time). The event will be broadcast live on major African and international television networks, as well as the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) digital streaming platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifying with a Strong Performance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Algeria secured its qualification for the 2024 (now 2025) AFCON last December with a commanding performance against Burundi. The team won both legs of the qualifier (5-1 at home and 1-0 away), with the matches held at the 5th July Stadium in Algiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national team is now focused on ensuring its best performance at the tournament, marking its return to the African stage after years of absence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
