The 27th edition of the Algiers International Book Fair<\/strong> (SILA<\/a>) concluded on Saturday, marking the end of a successful ten-day event held at the Pins Maritimes in Algiers. The fair, which ran from November 1st to 10th, showcased a wide array of cultural and literary activities, drawing millions of visitors and hosting numerous distinguished guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Record-Breaking Attendance and Cultural Programming<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s fair, which coincided with the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian War of Independence on November 1, 1954, was themed “We Read to Triumph” (“Nqra\u2019 Linanta\u2019asar”). The event saw an unprecedented turnout, attracting 4.3 million visitors<\/strong> from all age groups, surpassing the previous record of 3.5 million<\/strong> in the 26th edition. The highest attendance occurred on Friday, when the fair registered a peak of 863,000 visitors<\/strong> in a single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
