Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has signed a presidential decree summoning the electoral body to convene on March 9, 2025, to renew half of the elected members of the Council of the Nation. This announcement was made in an official statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic.
The statement reads: “In accordance with Articles 91 (paragraph 7), 121, and 122 (paragraph 3) of the Constitution, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has signed a presidential decree calling on the electoral body to convene on March 9, 2025, to renew half of the elected members of the Council of the Nation.”
This renewal process reflects the constitutional provisions and marks another step in reinforcing Algeria’s institutional and democratic structures.
