In response to the ongoing Gaza uprising and the escalating clashes between the resistance and Israeli forces, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas convened an emergency leadership meeting in Ramallah on Saturday. The gathering included key civilian and security officials.

According to the Palestinian News Agency, President Abbas emphasized the Palestinian people’s right to self-defense against the terrorism of Israeli settlers and occupation forces. He directed efforts to provide everything necessary to strengthen the resilience and steadfastness of our people in the face of the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation and settler gangs.

Earlier today, the Al-Qassam Brigades, affiliated with Hamas, announced the launch of the “Aqsa Tempest” operation. In this operation, dozens of fighters breached the separation barrier and seized control of several settlements.

The operation resulted in the death and injury of numerous settlers, while videos shared by activists on social media depicted the capture of a significant number of Israeli soldiers.

This emergency meeting underscores the gravity of the situation in Gaza and the Palestinian territories, as leaders come together to address the evolving circumstances and plan a unified response to the ongoing crisis.
