Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi warns of an impending humanitarian catastrophe as Israel commences a ground assault on Gaza, accompanied by a total internet blackout.

Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, has sounded an alarm over what he describes as an unfolding humanitarian catastrophe, stating that Israel has just initiated a ground offensive in Gaza. Safadi’s comments came via a tweet on platform “X” this Friday, adding that the conflict could have far-reaching repercussions for years to come.

Safadi took the opportunity to critique recent international stances, emphasizing that a vote against an Arab resolution on Gaza in the United Nations General Assembly essentially translates to endorsing a “senseless war.” He underscored the gravity of the situation, pointing out that international complicity would be perceived as enabling the ongoing conflict.

In a parallel development, Gaza’s Government Media Office confirmed a complete shutdown of communication services, including internet access across the entire sector today. The same sources indicate that the Israeli military is responsible for the communications blackout, implemented presumably to commit atrocities unobserved. They further reported that the military is engaging in what they termed as “the most violent aerial, ground, and naval bombardment since the inception of hostilities on Gaza city, the Beach Refugee Camp, and all the northern areas of the sector.”

This new assault intensifies an already volatile situation, raising questions about the international community’s role and its willingness to intervene to prevent further human suffering. Amidst these troubling times, the complete internet blackout also jeopardizes real-time reporting from the area, making it increasingly difficult to ascertain the full extent of the ongoing crisis.
