Algerian Army Chief Visits China’s CATIC, Specializing in Aircraft Manufacturing

In a significant move strengthening the military and technological ties between Algeria and China, the Chief of Staff of Algeria’s National People’s Army, Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, visited the headquarters of the Chinese aerospace company CATIC in Beijing. According to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of National Defence, the Lieutenant General was presented with a comprehensive overview of the company’s range of aircraft, including those designed for search and rescue operations and firefighting, as well as reconnaissance aircraft and helicopters.

During the visit, Chengriha and his accompanying delegation engaged in an extensive working session with CATIC officials. They discussed the future prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of military industries, focusing on a thorough understanding of potential collaborations.

Following the CATIC visit, the Chief of Staff proceeded to ELINC, a company affiliated with the CEC group specializing in the production of electronic and cyber defense technologies and systems. The session at ELINC was dedicated to exploring areas of cooperation and ways to enhance them through the exchange of expertise.

Chengriha also had the opportunity to closely inspect the company’s research and monitoring laboratories. The visit concluded with a commemorative photo session with the officials of the company, marking a significant step in Algeria’s efforts to expand its technological and defense capabilities through international partnerships.
