Algerian Student Inventor Honored by Higher Education Minister for Nanotechnology Breakthrough

Algeria’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Baddari, personally honored a young Algerian inventor at the ministry’s headquarters today, recognizing her groundbreaking nanotechnology patent.

Nessrine Mersali, a student from the University of Ahmed Bougara Boumerdes, who recently obtained her Master’s degree in Applied Biochemistry, told dzwatch that her invention focuses on developing innovative therapeutic nutrition systems designed to support health and prevent disease.

The invention leverages nanoparticles to enhance the bioavailability of natural compounds with therapeutic properties, improving their absorption within the body and precisely targeting treatment sites — significantly boosting their overall effectiveness.

Mersali’s pioneering project was funded through the university’s Protomarket economic initiative, reflecting Algeria’s growing commitment to empowering young scientific talent and transforming academic research into real-world innovation.
