Algeria and Oman Sign Three Cooperation Agreements in Transport Sector

Algeria’s Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Said Saoud, officially bid farewell to Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Said bin Hamoud Al-Maawali, at Houari Boumediene International Airport, marking the conclusion of a landmark official visit.

The visit culminated in the signing of three major cooperation agreements covering maritime transport, airport ground services, and an executive program for collaboration across various transport sectors — reflecting the shared determination of both brotherly nations to deepen partnership and exchange expertise.

The Omani delegation conducted extensive field visits to Algiers Port, receiving detailed briefings on cargo and passenger operations, modernization projects, and logistical performance. The delegation also toured Algiers International Airport, reviewing passenger handling infrastructure, technical capabilities, and ongoing modernization programs.

Both sides told dzwatch they reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying bilateral coordination in the transport sector to serve their common interests.
