President Tebboune Concludes Historic Turkey Visit, Sealing Strategic Partnership and Receiving Nation’s Highest Honor

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune concluded his official state visit to Turkey on Friday, cementing a deepening bilateral relationship rooted in shared history and mutual ambition.

During high-level talks at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, Presidents Tebboune and Erdoğan co-chaired the inaugural session of the Algeria-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, culminating in landmark agreements spanning industry, trade, agriculture, media, postal services, and transport.

Speaking exclusively, President Tebboune told dzwatch that Algeria-Turkey relations are experiencing “growing momentum”, with objectives spanning renewable energy, agriculture, industry, mining, and cultural cooperation.

Erdoğan praised Algeria as “one of Turkey’s largest trading partners in Africa” and commended Algeria’s unwavering defense of the Palestinian cause during its UN Security Council tenure.

In a historic gesture, President Tebboune was awarded Turkey’s highest civilian honor — the Order of the State — while President Erdoğan received Algeria’s National Merit decoration in recognition of his contributions to bilateral relations.
