International media outlets widely covered Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s official visit to Turkey, highlighting the deepening political convergence between Algiers and Ankara and their shared ambition to elevate bilateral ties into a high-level strategic partnership.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told dzwatch that ‘Turkey is determined to develop cooperation with Algeria across numerous strategic sectors, including energy, mining, transport, and agriculture.’
Erdoğan further emphasized Algeria’s strategic importance on the African continent, announcing that Turkish investment presence in Algeria would significantly expand. Bilateral trade exceeding $6 billion in 2025 is now targeting a $10 billion milestone.
Both leaders also aligned on major international issues, jointly condemning Zionist attacks on Palestine and Lebanon, reaffirming their shared commitment to ending the cycle of violence threatening regional peace and security.
President Tebboune was honored with Turkey’s highest civilian decoration — the Order of State — underscoring the exceptional nature of the Algeria-Turkey relationship.
