Algerian Legislative Elections: Campaign Silence Period Commences Ahead of July 2nd Vote

Algeria officially entered its three-day election silence period today, Monday, leading up to the legislative elections scheduled for July 2nd. During this critical pre-election phase, all candidates are strictly prohibited from engaging in any form of electoral campaigning or activity.

Algerian electoral law explicitly mandates that from the commencement of this period, any election-related activity, irrespective of the method or medium used, is strictly forbidden. This measure is designed to provide voters with a period of reflection, free from direct campaign influence, before they head to the polls to cast their ballots.
