Algeria Forecasts Widespread Thunderstorms and Southern Sandstorms for Tuesday

Algeria's national meteorological services have issued a weather alert, predicting significant thunderstorms, strong winds, and localized sand dispersal across various provinces on Tuesday. This widespread weather event will affect many parts of the country, from the northern coast to the southern desert regions.

The weather office detailed that considerable, locally heavy thunderstorms are expected across a vast area. Northern and central provinces anticipated to experience these conditions include Souk Ahras, Tébessa, Oum El Bouaghi, Khenchela, Batna, Sétif, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Boumerdès, Algiers, Blida, Tipaza, Médéa, Ain Defla, Tissemsilt, Chlef, Mascara, Relizane, Tiaret, Laghouat, Ghardaïa, El Bayadh, Naâma, Saïda, Sidi Bel Abbès, Guelma, Constantine, Mila, Mostaganem, Oran, Ain Témouchent, and Tlemcen.

Further south, the provinces of Biskra, El M'ghair, Ouled Djellal, M'Sila, Djelfa, Béchar, Béni Abbès, Tindouf, In Guezzam, El Oued, Touggourt, El M'niaa, Timimoun, Tamanrasset, and Bordj Badji Mokhtar are also forecasted to experience these thunderstorms.

In addition to the thundery downpours, strong winds are predicted, specifically leading to the formation of sandstorms in the southern regions. The provinces of El M'niaa, Timimoun, and Tamanrasset are particularly identified as being at risk of experiencing these intense sandstorms. Residents in all affected areas are advised to exercise caution and remain updated on local weather advisories for safety.
