Algerian Leaders Affirm National Consensus on Sahrawi Self-Determination and Referendum

Algerian political and organizational leaders recently affirmed the country's steadfast support for the Sahrawi people's inalienable right to self-determination. During the opening of the 14th Summer University for Sahrawi State and Polisario Front cadres in Boumerdes, there was a unanimous declaration that the Western Sahara issue remains a matter of decolonization, for which the only solution is a free and fair referendum conducted under the supervision of the United Nations.

This unwavering position was reiterated by Saeed Ayachi, President of the Algerian National Committee for Support to the Sahrawi People. He underscored Algeria's principled stance backing the Sahrawi people's right to determine their own future. Representatives from various Algerian political parties present at the event also emphasized that solidarity with the Sahrawi cause is a clear and consistent principle, showcasing Algeria's commitment to the values of its November 1st revolution and its dedication to supporting oppressed peoples in their quest for dignity and freedom.

The 14th edition of the Summer University, hosted by M'Hamed Bougara University in Boumerdes, operates under the theme "Self-determination and independence are an inalienable right," serving as a crucial platform for training and knowledge acquisition. Its program features lectures and scientific workshops led by Algerian professors, focusing on the historical and legal aspects of the Western Sahara conflict and reviewing modern methods of national liberation struggles. This initiative reinforces the strong bonds of brotherhood and alliance between the Algerian and Sahrawi peoples, enhancing the practical experience of the Sahrawi struggle.
