Algerian Civil Protection Bolsters Operational Readiness in Sidi Bel Abbès

The Director General of Algerian Civil Protection, Colonel Boughlaf, recently conducted an inspection visit to Sidi Bel Abbès, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Wilaya, Maaoui Riyad. The visit's primary objective was to assess and ensure the optimal operational readiness of the Civil Protection services within the region. Colonel Boughlaf commenced his inspection at the main Civil Protection unit, where he meticulously examined various equipment, operational resources, human personnel, and essential field equipment, underscoring the commitment to robust public safety infrastructure.

During his comprehensive tour, the Director General reviewed several specialized teams crucial for diverse emergency scenarios. These included the mobile column and regional detachment dedicated to combating forest fires, a support and initial intervention team, and a specialized cell for responding to technological and chemical hazards. Additionally, he assessed the search and rescue team operating in difficult terrains, the divers' team, and the canine unit with trained dogs. The thorough examination aimed to confirm their preparedness and capability to respond effectively to a wide range of incidents and disasters. Colonel Boughlaf also visited the Wilaya’s Operational Coordination Center, where he observed the utilization of digital platforms and applications designed to manage daily interventions and crisis situations, thereby enhancing coordination and accelerating decision-making processes.

The visit also included a detailed presentation on the activities of the Civil Protection services in Sidi Bel Abbès, highlighting the human and material resources allocated for the protection of individuals and property. Colonel Boughlaf further inspected various facilities of the main unit to evaluate working conditions and available equipment. Concluding his tour, the Director General issued a series of directives emphasizing the critical importance of maintaining the highest levels of operational readiness, intensifying coordination among all specialized units, ensuring the optimal use of equipment, and adopting proactive and effective intervention strategies to guarantee swift and efficient responses to all emergency calls.
