Algeria Advances Health Sovereignty with Key Pharmaceutical Projects

Algeria's Pharmaceutical Industry Minister, Wassim Kouidri, recently chaired a working meeting at the Saidal Group's Research, Development, and Innovation Center in Algiers to review the progress of two significant strategic projects. These initiatives are designed to advance the national pharmaceutical industry and reinforce Algeria's health sovereignty. The projects under review include the localization of peptide production within Algeria and the establishment of the Algerian Institute for Stem Cell Therapy.

The meeting provided an opportunity to examine various technical and scientific aspects related to both projects. Discussions focused on monitoring the ongoing preparations, which involve coordination with foreign partners, particularly concerning the transfer of expertise and technology. A core objective is the development of specialized national competencies. In the coming months, a specialized training program is slated for launch, targeting a select group of young researchers and engineers in biotechnology from Saidal. This program aims to equip them with mastery over modern techniques for peptide production, molecules crucial for drug manufacturing.

These strategic projects hold substantial importance given the advancements in biotechnology and advanced therapies within the pharmaceutical sector.
