Investment Credit Guarantees for SMEs Climb to 41 Billion Dinars

The Investment Credit Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises (CGCI-PME) notably increased its granted guarantees to 41 billion dinars in 2025, up from 35 billion dinars in 2024. This substantial growth supported 671 investment loan operations in 2025, compared to 561 operations the previous year, marking a 20 percent rise in the number of files and a 15 percent increase in value.
Since its establishment in 2006 until December 31, 2025, the CGCI-PME has supported over 6,000 investment projects, with a total value exceeding 279 billion dinars. This sustained support underscores its pivotal role in assisting small and medium enterprises. In 2025, guaranteed loans were predominantly directed towards the industrial sector, accounting for 41 percent of the total, followed by construction, public works, and irrigation at 22 percent, services at 13 percent, and transport at 12 percent, further diversifying the economic landscape.
While credit guarantees for establishing new businesses remain a primary objective, projects aimed at business development and expansion represent a significant portion of the fund's activities, accounting for 73 percent of SME files. This distribution reflects businesses' commitment to investing in their growth, enhancing competitiveness, and contributing to wealth creation. Concurrently, awareness initiatives conducted by the fund with partner banks have significantly improved collection operations, with 523 million dinars collected in 2025, a 240 percent increase from 2024.
The Director General of the CGCI-PME, Samir Mejdkan, emphasized that these results affirm the fund's dedication to supporting financial institutions and facilitating access to bank loans for SMEs. This ongoing commitment is crucial for sustaining investment dynamism, which in turn fosters wealth creation and employment opportunities across Algeria.
