National Military Pentathlon Team Victorious at World Championship

The Algerian national military pentathlon team returned to Algeria yesterday evening, arriving at Houari Boumediene International Airport. The team was received after achieving an honorable distinction by winning the gold medal and securing the title of Military World Champion for 2026. This prestigious victory was achieved in the obstacle course relay competition during the 68th edition of the Military Pentathlon World Championship of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), which took place in Austria.
The international competition ran from August 2 to August 9, 2026, where the Algerian elite national team demonstrated distinguished participation. Upon their arrival, the team was welcomed by the head of the Military Sports Department of the Usage and Preparation Directorate of the People's National Army Staff, marking the recognition of their international success.
Following this well-deserved triumph, General Said Chengriha, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, extended his sincere congratulations to all the athlete heroes and the technical staff. This significant achievement is noted as an addition to the record of military sports awards, further highlighting Algeria's excellence on the international stage.
