Air Algérie, Oman Airports Seal Partnership for 2027 Algiers-Muscat Route

The Air Algérie Group and Oman Airports – Transom have officially signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation and developing their partnership in air services. This includes a focus on ground handling and other activities related to air operations. The signing ceremony was attended by Hamza Benhamouda, CEO of Air Algérie, and Nasser bin Ahmed Al Sharji, CEO of Oman Airports – Transom, marking a collaborative step between the two entities.

This initiative aligns with efforts to enhance strategic relations between Algeria and the Sultanate of Oman. It also serves to implement an operational roadmap focused on transport, logistics, and digitalization, which was previously agreed upon in the first half of 2026. The memorandum explores cooperation opportunities designed to improve service quality and passenger experience, while also fostering collaboration in air freight and facilitating the exchange of expertise and professional practices between the groups.

A significant outcome of this partnership is the projected establishment of a direct Algiers-Muscat air link, planned for 2027. This development is a key component of the reinforced cooperation and forms part of Air Algérie's broader growth strategy, which emphasizes expanding international alliances within the aviation sector and reinforcing its regional and global presence.
