Algeria Participates in the 112th Session of the International Labour Conference

Starting Thursday, Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, Faisal Bin Taleb, will lead a tripartite delegation comprising representatives from the government, workers, and employers at the 112th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Ministry’s statement highlighted that this session, held under the theme “Towards a Renewed Social Contract,” will take place over 12 days from June 3 to 14, 2024.

Participants in this session will discuss an agenda covering several key topics, including “Reports of the Chairman of the Board and the Director-General, program and budget information, various reports on the implementation of conventions and recommendations.” The conference will also address the topic of protection from biological hazards, along with fundamental principles and rights at work, as well as decent work and the care economy.

The Palestinian issue will receive special attention from the participants, particularly the situation of workers in the occupied territories and the oppression, persecution, and mistreatment they face from the occupying entity.

On the sidelines of the conference, Minister Bin Taleb is expected to hold bilateral talks with his counterparts from the participating countries.
