CNR, CNAS Inform Diaspora on National Retirement Benefits

The Caisse nationale des retraites (CNR) and the Caisse nationale des assurances sociales (CNAS) have initiated a joint public information campaign to engage Algerian nationals residing abroad. This concerted effort focuses on informing members of the Algerian diaspora about their eligibility for social security coverage, including health, maternity insurance, and retirement pensions, through a voluntary affiliation program. The initiative is particularly timely, coinciding with the summer holiday period when many Algerians return home, offering a direct opportunity for engagement.
Representatives from the CNR and CNAS are actively meeting with members of the community at various ports and airports across Algeria. This direct outreach strategy facilitates comprehensive explanations of the mechanisms and facilities available for enrolling in Algeria's social protection services. Detailed guidance is provided on how to declare and pay contributions, with emphasis on the secure digital platform for online télédéclaration and the convenience of international bank card payments.
The voluntary affiliation system, established by Executive Decree n°22-351, is specifically designed for Algerian nationals working professionally outside the national territory. Those who subscribe to this national retirement scheme gain access to essential benefits such as in-kind provisions for health and maternity insurance, various retirement pensions or allocations, and the advantageous option to repurchase past contribution years. This program offers a distinct framework for contributions and liquidation, ensuring vital social protection for the Algerian community abroad.
