Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, participated on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, in an Algerian-Russian working session. He highlighted the various facilities that Algeria provides to both national and foreign investors to implement their projects in all industrial sectors.

According to a statement from the ministry, Aoun’s participation in this international economic event aims to “review all agreements between the two countries following President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s visit to Russia last year and to support the partnership and cooperation between Algeria and Russia.”

The bilateral working session featured several presentations. The statement noted that the Minister emphasized the significant role the industrial sector plays in the structure of the national economy.

During the meeting, the parties discussed “many economic issues, especially following the significant increase in the number of Russian company heads’ missions to Algeria. All Russian clients expressed their satisfaction with their stay in Algeria and the exchanges they conducted with Algerian economic clients.”

Recent Algerian-Russian economic cooperation has been marked by several meetings held in Algeria across various provinces, in coordination with the Economic Renewal Council. These meetings took place in Bejaia, Constantine, Oran, and Setif, allowing Russian operators to discover major investment and business opportunities, particularly in the industrial field.

These initiatives have resulted in a 2% increase in trade exchanges, with both parties committed to continuing this trend to further strengthen economic relations, particularly by boosting trade volume between Algeria and Russia.
