8th Session of the Algerian-Omani Joint Committee Achieves Desired Goals

The 8th session of the Algerian-Omani Joint Committee, held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra and his Omani counterpart Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al-Busaidi, was a resounding success, achieving all its objectives on multiple levels.

  • The session provided an opportunity to strengthen political dialogue and coordination between the two countries, reaffirming their shared vision and positions on regional and international issues.
  • A comprehensive assessment of bilateral cooperation across various sectors was conducted, revealing a highly positive outlook, particularly in light of Oman’s status as one of Algeria’s largest Arab investors in strategic fields.

  • Economic actors from both sides were engaged to encourage them to seize available opportunities for joint investment projects, following the model partnership in fertilizer production.
  • The legal framework of bilateral relations was enriched through the signing of three memoranda of understanding in the fields of environment, social affairs, and judicial training, as well as two executive programs in the fields of youth, sports, and the national archives.
  • Negotiations were also agreed to be completed on a significant number of important draft agreements to be signed during upcoming bilateral events before the end of the current year.
