President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a congratulatory message from his American counterpart, Joe Biden, on the occasion of the 62nd Independence Day anniversary, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.
Biden’s congratulatory message stated, “I extend my warmest congratulations to you and the Algerian people on behalf of the people of the United States of America.”
He added, “The longstanding partnership between Algeria and the United States is more important today than ever, as we coordinate our efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, end conflicts in Sudan, and enhance security and governance across the Sahel region.”
Regarding economic cooperation between Algeria and Washington, Biden said, “Our economic and trade relations continue to evolve.”
He continued, “Algeria’s regional leadership has played a crucial role in addressing some of the world’s most pressing issues, such as transnational crime, extremism, instability, and conflicts.”
