Batna Community Rallies for Orphan Groom’s Joyful Wedding

An Algerian groom, Salah from Merouana in Batna province, 405 kilometers east of Algiers, garnered widespread sympathy after a video circulated showing him celebrating his wedding with a very limited number of attendees. The footage, which went viral across social media platforms, depicted the young man appearing disheartened while seated at a reception table largely devoid of guests. Despite the initial sparse attendance, Salah was seen dancing and celebrating with the few individuals present at his first wedding event.

Following the significant spread of the video highlighting the orphan groom's story, calls for support quickly emerged from various Algerian provinces, particularly those neighboring Batna. This national appeal led to the organization of a second, larger wedding celebration. Thousands of people from different regions converged to participate in this subsequent event, with many offering material and moral assistance, including financial contributions to help the young man with his wedding expenses.
