Nigerien Students Begin Professional Training in Boumerdes

A professional training program for over 500 Nigerien students has been officially launched in Boumerdes, Algeria, marking a significant step in bilateral cooperation between the two nations. The ceremony was overseen by a joint ministerial delegation, which included Algeria's Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Mohamed Hattab, and Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Nacima Erhab, alongside Niger's Minister of Public Service, Labor and Employment. This initiative was implemented following directives from Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, underscoring Algeria's commitment to fostering regional partnerships.

The more than 500 Nigerien students and trainees, who arrived at Houari Boumediene International Airport, will be distributed across various national centers and institutes throughout Algeria. They are set to pursue training in 19 professional specializations, carefully selected to align with the labor market demands and development requirements of Niger, thereby ensuring a targeted approach to skill development and employment preparedness.

Through this program, Algeria aims to leverage its national system for vocational training and education as a strategic pillar for enhancing South-South cooperation and facilitating the exchange of expertise with other African nations. This endeavor culminates the partnership between Algeria and Niger in employment and youth skills development, further solidifying the bonds of historical brotherhood and solidarity between the two countries and reflecting Algeria's dedication to regional progress.
