President Tebboune Projects Algeria’s Economic Growth Above 3.8%

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced that Algeria's economic growth is projected to exceed 3.8%, with the potential to reach 4.1%. These optimistic perspectives align with the latest projections from the International Monetary Fund, as indicated by the President during a periodic interview with media representatives. This convergence reflects a shared positive outlook on the nation's financial trajectory.
During the same interview, President Tebboune firmly reiterated Algeria's commitment to avoiding external debt. This declaration was made in response to inquiries concerning a recent IMF report that had projected a potential decline in exchange reserves by 2031. The President emphasized that Algerian studies present positive indicators for growth, with projections founded on the national economic requirements and the robust development of activity across various sectors.
President Tebboune outlined ongoing efforts to secure additional annual revenues of at least $5 billion, contributing to a broader goal of achieving a stable annual income of no less than $50 billion. He noted that by 2031, Algeria is expected to possess substantial financial reserves, thus eliminating any need for international borrowing. Significant progress is being made in major projects within the mining sector, including phosphate and Gara Djebilet, alongside the accelerated expansion of the pharmaceutical industry. The nation also continues its strategic initiatives to reduce import costs, actively support national production, and diversify its economic activities.
