Adjal Urges Rapid Energy Project Implementation for Supply Security

Mourad Adjal, Algeria's Minister of Energy and Renewable Energy, chaired a working meeting of the sector's coordination committee on Tuesday. The session focused on following up and reviewing various priority files and programs, with a particular emphasis on accelerating project implementation. A communiqué from the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energy confirmed that this initiative aims to strengthen the security and stability of the nation's energy supply.
During the meeting, discussions covered critical areas including energy production, transmission, and major structural projects. Specific dossiers examined encompassed the action plan for production for the 2027-2035 period, the business plan of General Electric Algeria Turbines (GEAT), and the transport action plan integrated into the 2027 investment scheme. Additionally, the committee addressed securing energy supply for Greater Algiers, storage capacities at power plants, and the operational status of facilities in Tébessa, Adrar, and Tamanrasset, alongside matters concerning substation managers under Sonelgaz's GRTE subsidiary.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Adjal issued instructions for the continuous and rigorous monitoring of all discussed issues. He underscored the importance of accelerating the execution of priority programs and projects. This directive highlights the government's commitment to ensuring effective coordination among all concerned companies and entities, thereby contributing to robust energy supply security and stability, and meeting the national demand.
